Self Adhesive Bitumen Membrane Installation

The installation of this bitumen membrane system incorporates 'DUO' technology which features heat-activated and self-adhesive application. The DUO range of products have been developed to make installation quicker, faster, safer, simpler and more secure than previously possible.

The DS1 DUO vapour barrier features a low melting point heat activated bitumen adhesive strips into which the insulation can be bonded.

Torch Applied Bitumen Membrane Installation

This short video clip demonstrates how a modified bitumen membrane system is installed with PIR flat board insulation.

All the membranes are torch applied which is a method widely used throughout the industry and is a reliable way for securing a watertight installation across the roof. The glass tissue faced insulation is fixed using polyeurythane adhesive.

Museum of London

The garden roof in the centre of the Museum of London is one of the oldest installed in London and has been in situ since 1976 when the building was first created. Its refurbishment was part of a £20.5 million redevelopment of the lower Galleries.

The garden has been brought into the 21st century with a versatile waterproofing solution that allows the landscaping to change and fit in with any feature display that is taking place in the galleries.

Sedum Installation at the Eden Project

This is how sedum roofs are installed using long rolls of pre-cultivated sedum plants grown like 'turf'. This building is at the Eden Project which is open to the public.

The hardy sedum plants are virtually drought and wind resistant and require very little maintenance. The roof doesn't need mowing as the sedums are very low growing and only the seed heads grow to about 10-15cm.

Bishop Justus C E School

The green roof on the Bishop Justus School is an amazing creation as these pictures show.

This visionary 3 storey building with 43 connecting different roof areas comprises flat, pitched and barrelled roofs. The low maintenance sedum green roof was installed on this £26 million project to help replace the footprint of the construction on the greenbelt area of Bromley Common.
What an outstanding place to go to school and see the roof in bloom! Very inspirational.
